Recommendation: This engine has been developed to be used with a fuel with a maximum of 25% nitro content and with an oil percentage not lower than 10%. We therefore suggest not to use it with different percentages compared to the ones specified here above.

Glowplug: The glowplug of this engine is a Turbo type glowplug.
Turbo glowplugs have a different shape than Standard glowplugs and therefor are not interchange able with engines that are using Standard glowplugs!

Crankshaft: The crankshaft has a special shape to reduce turbulences inside the crankcase. The front part was extended to improve the seal against fuel leaking.

Sleeve: The sleeve has 7 transfer ports and an exhaust with booster ports. The special shape and positioning of the ports, covered by a patent, improve the internal fluid-dynamics to obtain the maximum possible performance.

Combustion chamber: The combustion chamber is supported by an O-Ring which is placed between the combustion chamber and the crankcase to reduce the vibrations of the combustion chamber.

Rear ball bearing: The outer diameter of the rear ballbearing is increased to 26mm, this improves the strength and lifespan of the ball bearing.

Carburetor: The carburetor of this engine is made from plastic and in "reverse" style and has a sliding throttle valve.

Novarossi Plus 21-4 BTT

The Plus 21-4BTT is a evolution of the famous Plus 21-4C TEAM engine, but with a few tweaks to further improve the engines potential. The sleeve has been reworked to provide a better filling of the combustion chamber, lowering the fuel consumption and at the same time provide more power. While at the other end of the engine sits a backplate with a steel disc, this is a proven NOVAROSSI technology in the On-road class that reduces friction with the conrod in case of the conrod touching the backplate.

Other improvements of the latest Plus 21-4BTT are the at the engine now features one of the lightest cooling heads of all of the series of engines produced so far, this head not only reduces the rolling weight of your car but also sits far lower over the engine's crankcase, this also reduced the engines center of gravity to aid in your cars cornering ability. Underneath the engines cooling head the head button is sealed with a singular o-ring, this helps keep the engines liner/combustion chamber sealed from any dirt contamination, this is a concept introduced by Novarossi themselves many years ago which works to great effect. Aside from these latest innovations the engine relys on much of the original components from the Plus 21-4, from the polished tuned crankshaft to the 4-port liner the engine still oozes that Novarossi quality.

Novarossi "Super Strong" EFRA 9901 One Piece Tuned Pipe (No Manifold)

This is the Novarossi 9901 'Super Strong' polished racing pipe (no manifold). This is the one piece variety and requires an off-road manifold, which attaches to the tuned pipe using three small springs (not included). The 9901SS pipe produces strong linear bottom end power delivery, and yields great run times. The 41021 header is recommended for buggy applications, and the 41005, 41001 or 41019 headers are recommended when increased top end power is desired.

In a off road racing environment, many drivers prefer to use the Novarossi EFRA 9901 tuned pipe due to its impressive mileage and the power it produces. But with the brutal nature of 1/8 off road racing it can be difficult keep any tuned pipe free of damage. A damaged tuned pipe will hurt engine performance and can be costly to repair or replace. So now, Novarossi offers a "Super Strong" EFRA 9901 tuned pipe, which has been built with thicker material to take the abuse of serious off road racing.

A positive side effect of this new "Super Strong" pipe, is that it resonates at a different frequency, which makes this pipe quieter than the previous Novarossi 9901.

NOTE: This is only the tuned pipe, and does not include a manifold, manifold gaskets or retaining springs which must be purchased separately. This pipe is made available as a separate item so you can choose either the long or short manifold, depending on whether you want better top or bottom end performance.
Novarossi 41021 Short Smooth Flow Off Road Manifold

This is the Novarossi 41021 short, smooth flow, off-road racing manifold. This is the one piece variety manifold, which attaches to the tuned pipe using three small springs (small springs not included). This manifold is the smooth flow design from Novarossi, and is the short version of manifold for improved top end performance. Included is the manifold, manifold spring and one manifold gasket.
